One day, years ago, I thought it was time for my kids to try spinach…from the can, of course. My six-year-old son had chosen to be a picky eater, and he did not trust my choice of vegetables for the evening meal.

I told him the spinach was smashed green beans because that was a vegetable he would eat! My son was
required to try everything I served, so he obediently took several bites. He was not enjoying it.

After several bites his face became distorted, his cheeks grew larger, and he threw up the spinach across the table…right at his younger sister. Th en I had two kids who no longer enjoyed spinach. Needless to say, we never had canned spinach again.

Several years ago I was in your seat. We were a family battling many health challenges such as cancer, severe PMS, depression, Osgood Slater’s disease, multiple cavities, lethargy, muscle complaints, high cholesterol, acid reflux, weight issues, and other more serious health problems.

It tires me out just thinking about all the problems we had and yet we were considered “normal.” On the outside, we appeared as a normal healthy family but inside we were sick and needed answers.

God was tugging at my heart and mind to prepare better meals for my family and therefore improve our health. But I didn’t know how.

I looked into some health food stores only to feel like I was abandoning my faith and going into New Age.

Some of the food looked weird. If I served sprouts for dinner my family would be fighting for the phone to order a pizza.

Praise the Lord, that all changed.

The Answers to Healthy Living Were in Scripture All Along

Through the next several years God placed strategic people into my life. I was mentored and taught how to search the Scriptures with a focus on health. These new answers matched what I had studied in college. Once the Bible became my foundation, the food and nutrition fell right into place.

I started making changes in my family’s diet, which surprisingly tasted great! Health and vitality started returning. Truly, the treasure chest was opened! The foods God gifted us to bring hope and an energized life came flowing forth, and the blessings continue to this day

I am really enjoying this Bible Study! There is a lot of reading involved, but I am already absorbing so much. Some of the points are a little too extreme for me, but the author always makes it very clear to pray about each health decision and find what’s best for you. I am doing the online study as well from the author’s website and it is filled with great info! Who knew the Bible had so much to say about food?!?     The Treasures of Healthy Living book is awesome! 3 years ago I learned “healthy keto” which promotes eating 7-10 cups cruciferous veggies a day, low sugars, and 4 oz of meat/day + a lot of supplements, and IF. By doing that I helped my hormones rebalance enough to stop constantly bleeding for months, have a normal period, and I got pregnant after 2 years of trying. I also lost 20 lbs. it was hard though because no one else ate that way and if I messed up I was out of ketosis and had to work hard for 3-4 days to get back in. My husband enjoyed all the meat and stuff, but overall it was expensive and hard to maintain. Then I tried the vegan plant based diet and that didn’t taste very good and was really hard to keep up with. My husband didn’t enjoy it either. Finally, while breastfeeding and after 2 babies I’m following what Anette teaches in this book. I’ve lost about 10 more lbs since starting this book. The chapters on self-control, temptation, sugar, and fasting really spoke to me. I’m finding myself thanking the Lord for red grapes which rebuild our cells at the DNA level, honey, learning it’s okay to have some bread again, fruit, and grains because it is good as long as it is close to the way God made it and not processed. What she teaches here is like a grand combination of all I learned from keto, plant based vegan, regular healthy people, and with more info and with God’s touch! That makes it the best and worth the time to read. This book has also served as sort of a daily Bible study for me. I hope whoever buys this books will find the clarity they are looking for, good facts, and most importantly God’s love. You just looking into this is God leading you to some special blessings He has waiting for you which He keeps in a special room in Heaven. ;-P all you have to do is ask. Reading this book will save you a lot of headache and time—don’t hesitate and buy the book.
