How to Make the Perfect BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Dash chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard
  • Dash pepper
  • 1 medium onion chopped finely
  • Garlic 1 clove minced
  • 1 tablespoon oil

Optional add-ins

  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • Any dehydrated veggies

Instructions
 

  • Saute onion and garlic in oil. Saute until ingredients are translucent. This cooking on low to medium heat makes the onions and garlic sweeter and more flavorful.
  • Add in other ingredients except optional add-ins. Cook over medium heat,stirring frequently until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
  • Store in an airtight container or jar in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.

Makes about 2 ½ cups sauce.
