Cranberries are a wonderful addition into a healthy diet! These shiny scarlet berries are grown in big sand bogs on low trailing vines.

They are extensively cultivated in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Washington, and Oregon. Harvested September through early November, the peak market period is around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Discard any cranberries that are discolored or shriveled. Cranberries can be refrigerated, tightly wrapped for at least two months, or frozen up to a year.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 quart Water
  • 4 ounces Cranberry Juice
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • ½ Lemon juiced
  • 1 Orange juiced

Instructions
 

  • Add Water, Cranberry Juice, and Ground Spices into a saucepan. Simmer on low for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes. (Or however long it needs to cool).
  • Add Lemon and Orange Juice.
  • Enjoy!
