What’s Good about Rice?
Rice comes in different varieties. There’s the long-grain basmati, brown rice, white rice, sticky rice, and black rice.
But did you know that one of the healthiest varieties is brown rice?
Brown rice is a type of whole grain, which means all the three parts of the kernel are still intact - the bran, germ, and the endosperm. The bran is the portion that is rich in fiber; the germ is where the nutrients are found, and the endosperm makes it starchy.
No wonder brown rice is packed with health benefits!
As for white rice, it is no longer a whole grain but a refined grain.
Both the germ and the bran are no longer intact, and all that is left is the endospore. The same is true with white flour, which makes it less nutritious.
White rice does not have most of its nutrients and fiber. But manufacturers “enrich” white rice by adding back some of the iron and B-vitamins, yet without the fiber.
Therefore, it is a smarter choice to eat brown rice because aside from being high in fiber and nutritious, it is also low in calories. It only contains about 216 calories each cup.
If you suffer from wheat intolerance, brown rice is also a suitable choice for you because it is gluten-free. There is also no cholesterol or trans-fat in brown rice, and the sodium content is quite low.
Now that you know what’s great about brown rice, let’s head over to the kitchen and prepare this yummy brown rice with apple recipe that’s great for the Daniel fast.

Thank you for all your hard work researching biblical foods. I did a 21 day Daniel fast and prayer for the first time before the election. It wasn’t that difficult and I definately felt better and lost some weight. The toughest part was no coffee. Lol. I am now relearning how to cook using more grains, veggies, nuts, and such. Your YouTube and this site have really educated me. Thank you and God Bless.
I am so glad to hear the videos and blogs have been helpful!
