Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cup Boiling Water or Apple Juice
  • 1 cup Raisins
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1 ½ cup Sucanat
  • ½ cup Molasses
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 4 cups Whole Wheat Flour hard white
  • 1 tsp Real Salt
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 cup Chopped Nuts

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven: 350°F (180°C).
  • Combine  boiling  water, raisins and baking soda. Let stand until cool.
  • Cream  butter, sucanat, molasses, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Add flour, salt, cinnamon,  and nutmeg.
  • Drain water from raisin mixture, reserving liquid. Add water to flour mixture.
  • Gently stir in raisins and nuts.
  • Bake in 2 greased loaf pans for 1 hour.
