Health Benefits of Zucchini Bread Muffins
First, let’s talk about nutrition, shall we?
What’s good about zucchini and why should you eat it often?
There are so many things to love about zucchini such as the following:
1. It helps improve digestion
Zucchini is rich in water, as well as electrolytes, fiber, and essential nutrients that support your digestive system.
By consuming this vegetable daily, you can reduce your risks of colon cancer, IBS, and ulcers, as well as constipation and other digestive problems.
2. It regulates your glucose level in the blood.
With a diet that is primarily made up of simple carbs and high sugar, this increases your chances of developing diabetes.
Since zucchini is rich in fiber, it keeps you satiated longer and minimizes the risk of loading up on carbs. You will feel fuller longer and your blood sugar levels will become more stable.
In fact, by eating 30 grams of fiber daily, you are least likely to have diabetes than those who consume much fewer amounts of fiber in a day.
3. It aids in slowing down the aging process.
Another great thing about zucchini is that it is loaded in phytonutrients and antioxidants.
With free radicals and all sorts of toxins in the environment, you need a strong defense against these elements.
The antioxidants in zucchini fight off the damaging effects of free radicals to keep you looking and feeling younger naturally.
4. It keeps your eyes healthy.
Eye health requires important nutrients including vitamin C, A, manganese, lutein, zeaxanthin, and beta-carotene.
Zeaxanthin, for instance, is essential for fighting and neutralizing the effects of free radicals. This helps minimize your chances of developing glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts, among other eye conditions linked with old age.
With all of these benefits, it only makes sense to include more zucchini in your diet - and a fresh batch of great-tasting zucchini bread muffins is just what can encourage you to eat more of it!
Interesting Ways to Serve and Make the Best Healthy Zucchini Bread Muffins Recipe
Normally, muffins require oil for baking.
But what’s special about this zucchini bread muffins is that you can use something else in place of the oil.
For instance, we recommend that you use pumpkin puree or applesauce as a substitute for oil. Not only does this make your zucchini bread muffins healthier but it is tastier, too.
Another thing that I suggest is that you add in chopped nuts.
As you know, the more protein and fiber you eat, the more satiated you become - a natural and effective way to fight nasty craving and bingeing!
Nuts also add a nice crunch to your zucchini bread muffins, adding an interesting texture to it.
