What’s in a Healthy, Best Chocolate Milk Drink?

What’s in a Healthy, Best Chocolate Milk Drink?

You see a ton of brands of “best chocolate milk” in the market but once you check the label, you’ll be shocked. They all have nasty, chemical ingredients in there and there are those that have a very high sugar content that mess up your hormones, not to mention the extra calories you don’t need. This is why I stopped buying those junk chocolate drinks in stores.

What I have been doing is a lot healthier, more beneficial to the body, and cheaper, actually. I make my own no added sugar chocolate milk drink - using only THREE ingredients.

What are these ingredients? So there’s organic cacao powder, your choice of nut milk, and stevia. That’s all there is to it!

And what about the nutrients you can get from it? You have your protein, your magnesium, B-vitamins, fiber, and vitamin C. Now, that’s how a chocolate milk drink needs to be!

What I like about cacao powder is how highly nutritious it is. It’s loaded in vitamins, minerals, zinc, fiber, and magnesium. Cacao contains some caffeine but not the kind that gives you a nasty crash. Cacao fuels your brain and keeps you focused without feeling jittery or anxious.

I also like how cacao can give you that “happy” feeling by providing your body with serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter that lifts your mood up. So you feel amazing and positive after drinking chocolate.

And another thing that’s good about this chocolate milk is the nut milk component in it. You are free to use organic and grass-fed cow’s milk if you prefer it but then I like to use nut milk for a higher dose of protein and fiber. For this recipe, you can use your choice of nut milk whether it’s walnut milk, cashew milk, organic, GMO-free soy milk, or almond milk. I know that buying those nut milk varieties can be expensive, so I make my own. It’s actually very easy.

If you prefer to use almond milk for this recipe, just buy organic raw almonds, blend them up with some water, then strain with a nut milk bag or cheesecloth, and it’s good to go! Same with cashew milk and walnut milk and pistachio milk. Just buy the raw nuts, blend up with water, strain, and you have a nice batch of homemade nut milk. I actually have another blog post on

The Secret to This No Added Sugar Chocolate Milk

Okay, now about the sweetener… First of all, I’m not a fan of sugar. So what I use to sweeten this chocolate milk drink recipe is stevia. It’s all natural, sugar-free, and great for people who are trying to avoid sugar.

Most importantly, it’s low in calories. It’s the perfect choice for those on a weight loss diet or simply want a healthier, better alternative to sugar.

Overall, this is a great recipe that you can drink when you’re craving something sweet, or when your kids are craving a filling beverage without the bad stuff.

When you feed your body with wholesome, healthy food and drink, your body will definitely thank you for it and reward you with amazing health. It’s your way to show how much you love yourself and how grateful you are to the Lord. When you care and love your body, you are also expressing your love to God!

So let’s get our ingredients ready and start making this yummy and nutritious chocolate milk recipe!
